Forward Day Centre is part of the North Lynn Allotment Association. The Sow & Grow project has given our members the opportunity to cultivate their own fruit, vegetables, and flowers on these community allotments since the project begun in year 2000. Members enjoy the opportunity to learn and improve their horticultural skills as they are involved in the development, planning, and maintenance of our allotments. Our members decide which produce to grow each season; recently this has included chillies, Jerusalem artichokes, strawberries, potatoes, and green beans. They have also created a sensory garden, raised beds, and wheelchair access to encourage as many people as possible to use this wonderful resource. Members from the independent living groups cook some of the tasty produce and during the warmer months Sow and Grow participants enjoy some delicious BBQs!
